This is a working draft describing how Soki actually operates today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer — have it checked before you rely on it as a binding legal document.
Who can use Soki
You self-declare your age band at signup, and we use it to apply age-appropriate protections. Accounts under 18 are subject to additional restrictions set by a parent through Family & parental controls. Providing a false birthdate to bypass these protections is a violation of these terms.
Your account
You’re responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity on your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it. One person, one account — don’t create accounts to evade a suspension or ban.
Your content
You own what you post. By posting, you give Soki the license needed to store, display, and distribute it to the audience you chose (friends, followers, nearby, or public) so the app can actually function. You can delete your content or your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for what happens after deletion.
Acceptable use
The detailed rules, and what happens when they are broken, are in our Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms. In short, don’t use Soki to:
- Harass, threaten, or bully another person.
- Post illegal content, or content that endangers a child.
- Impersonate someone else or misrepresent your identity or age.
- Scrape, spam, or use the platform to manipulate engagement or distribute malware.
- Circumvent a block, mute, restriction, suspension, or ban.
- Interfere with the platform’s normal operation or attempt to bypass its security.
Reporting and enforcement
You can report content or accounts that violate these terms; higher-severity reports (child safety, threats, illegal content) are reviewed first. We may hide content, suspend, or ban an account that violates these terms. If your content or account is actioned, you can appeal the decision from Notifications or Settings › Privacy.
Pages
Creating a Page requires identity verification. A Page’s owner is responsible for what its team posts under it, including any content marked as a paid promotion.
Advertising
Only verified adults can advertise, and ads are shown only to adults. Every ad is reviewed before it runs and can be stopped at any time. Ads can’t be about or aimed at children or young people, or promote adult content, weapons, gambling, tobacco or drugs, get-rich-quick schemes, miracle cures, or anything misleading, and links must go where the ad says. Everyone pays the same price per 1,000 views; credit is spent only as views are delivered. Questions about unused credit: contact us.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Privacy. We can suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, with a reason provided and, except in severe cases, a chance to appeal.
Disclaimers
Soki is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. We don’t pre-screen content before it’s posted and aren’t responsible for what other users post. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Soki, to the extent permitted by law.
Changes to these terms
If we materially change these terms, we’ll ask you to review and re-accept them the next time you sign in.
